Went in there so they could diagnose what was causing the squealing in my transmission. They came back to me with the diagnosis of "we don't know". Then proceeded to give me quotes for the most expensive repairs in the transmission.
This is the diagnostic we have hear and you should have on the paperwork we gave you. We type in all caps so don't think I am yelling. HaHa. Copied -- THE CLUTCH PEDAL IS LOW. THE PEDAL IS HARD TO PUSH. THE NOISE IS COMING FROM THE CLUTCH AREA. COULD BE THE CLUTCH OR THE THROUGH OUT BEARING. MORE THEN LIKELY THE BEARING. WOULD NEED TO PULL THE TRANS DOWN TO INSPECT THE CLUTCH. WILL QUOTE A CLUTCH, BEARING, AND A FLY WHEEL. THINGS I NOTICED WERE THE LEFT REAR BRAKE CALIPER IS LEAKING BRAKE FLUID. BOTH REAR AXLE SEALS ARE LEAKING. THE FUEL TANK STRAP ON THE RIGHT SIDE REAR MOUNT TO THE FRAME IS RUST AND NOTHING LEFT TO BOLT THE STRAP TO. BUT IM SURE THE CUSTOMER KNOWS DUE TO THERE'S A RATCHET STRAP HOLDING THE TANK UP. The quote we gave is to replace the clutch, pressure plate, and through out bearing. I know it is expensive, however it is not the most expensive thing that could go wrong with a vehicles transmission. If you have any other questions fell free to call us, we are here to help. Also if you replace just the through out bearing (if that is what is squealing, because we need to take the parts out in order to know) the clutch is likely worn out and would need to be replaced soon after so we quoted the entire kit because this is normal to replace everything in there once it is exposed. Thank you
