Big Rapids Auto Repair

My wife and I were coming home from a little getaway and it was pouring rain on the highway when our windshield wipers suddenly quit working. It was 1 pm and we knew were weren't too far from Big Rapids and there is a Chevrolet dealer there. I immediately called the dealer to explain our dilemma and they said, "we can't help you today." Not knowing what else to do next, we drove to the first Big Rapids exit and almost immediately saw JR Customs and Collision. I spoke with the secretary there and although they don't do that type of work, they suggested Johnson's Automotive and even called them. Johnsons said to bring the car right over. We did and, incredibly there was another family there already with the exact same problem with the exact same car! So, Johnsons took immediately took both vehicles back at the same time, analyzed them and found we both needed the same thing; a new wiper transmission assembly. Obviously they didn't have these parts in stock but they found them somewhere else in town (likely the dealer!) and got them over to the shop quickly. They then proceeded to fix both cars on the spot. Lastly, when they were pulling our car back around to the front, they noticed a noise in our tire and brought it back again. They discovered that while we were driving alongside the highway in the pouring rain without windshield wipers, we had run over a nail. They fixed that too! I can't say enough good about this place and would trust these folks with my life. They were courteous, helpful and efficient, not to mention they had a very nice and clean waiting area with a an equally nice bathroom for customers a well as free coffee too. I'm not from Big Rapids, but if I were, I would go to Johnson's every single time. Wish they were located in our town! Thanks so much guys! When our dealer told us "NO" you saved the day and we surely appreciate it!

i was told the service would take about 30 minutes, in 10 minutes they said I was all set! I love taking my car to an honest service place that is also very quick when they can!

Took my vehicle in for brakes and rotor replacement and was extremely satisfied. Was done in a timely manner and everyone I dealt with was helpful and let me know what else to keep an eye on in the future. Didn’t try to add more work onto my car than I asked for and I will definitely be using their services again.

I am new to the area and really had no idea who to call about a repair my diesel truck needing a new tcm module. A couple places left me feeling skeptical over the phone that popped up on a google search. One business was referred to me by some locals, the business told me they would look at it but didn’t seem interested or would even look at my truck in a months time. So my next call was to Johnson’s. I talked to mike on the phone and he seemed very willing to help me out with my problem. Mike was also able to get me scheduled for the next day after I called. My business really depends on a working vehicle so that was huge to me he got me on schedule. They diagnosed the problem the day they got it in garage and got it fixed the next day after getting parts from GM I needed. My first time at shop picking up my truck and I was impressed with cleanliness of garage, employees were dressed professionally and gave me good feeling of intelligence. Over all great first experience with this business and will use them again in future auto repairs.
